New kitchen gadgets from Heston Blumenthal

Published on: 13/07/2010Heston BlumenthalFat Duck chef Heston Blumenthal is set to launch a range of kitchen gadgets and tools for both domestic and professional kitchens later this year.

The Precision collection has been created in collaboration with Salter and includes thermometers for the oven and fridge, as well as those for the cooking of meat and sweet dishes.

Other items include an electronic measuring jug and scale, a glass timer, an electronic scale and a gourmet timer - all of which could particularly suit a contemporary kitchen design.

According to Beautiful Kitchens magazine, the range has been in development for three years and will go on sale in October.

It highlights the electronic measuring jug and scale as a particular favourite, as it lets cooks "convert weight to volume with ease and pile lots of ingredients in at the same time without losing track of the measurements".

Blumenthal has three Michelin stars for the Fat Duck restaurant in Bray.

The establishment was also named the world's best restaurant in 2005.
