Add a splash of colour to kitchens with vintage appliances

Homeowners looking to install a kitchen with a unique design might want to consider combining their brand new kitchen units with vintage appliances.
Kitchen appliances from bygone eras are rising in popularity among people who love the colour they can add to a new kitchen, according to Jamie Knodel of the Dallas Morning News.
She notes that that chrome and "playful colour" was the main look for kitchens before granite and stainless steel took over this part of the home.
"These kitchens and their appliances of years past have droves of fans ... There are plenty of collectors who put vintage appliances or reproductions in new construction," Ms Knodel comments.
Fresh Home magazine senior editor Rachael Liska recently told the Canadian Press that other types of vintage decor - such as framed restaurant menus and pages from old cookbooks - can help to add a touch of personality to new kitchens.
