Bright yellow paint 'ideal for kitchens' ★★★★★
Published on: 07/07/2010
Homeowners considering installing a new kitchen might want to redecorate while they do so - and opt for yellow paint.
According to Frances Stanford of Helium Home & Garden, yellow is a good colour to choose for those looking to make their interiors more cheerful.
For kitchens in particular, the brighter form of the shade could be "an excellent choice" as "it gives those who gather there a good feeling that aids digestion".
A paler yellow hue may be perfect for traditional kitchens following a more old-fashioned approach to kitchen design.
One example given by House To Home magazine shows how plain yellow walls and patterns can be combined with "warm" wood accessories in a country-style kitchen.
The yellow decor can be offset with a marble top for work surfaces and crockery and accessories in white.
Alternatively, homeowners may want to opt for yellow kitchen units instead and keep their walls neutral, or perhaps add just a splash of colour to the kitchen with yellow appliances and accessories amid darker cabinets and walls.
