'Chose light-coloured units' to make a small kitchen seem bigger

If a homeowner is looking to design a new kitchen in a small space, they should make use of light shades and use materials cleverly.
That is according to an article on the website of the UK television channel Home which suggests fixes for common kitchen problems.
If a person is designing a kitchen in a small space, they must ensure they do not plan too many wall cupboards, as open shelving will open up the space and make it appear bigger.
The writer also states: "One way of making a small kitchen seem bigger is to choose light-coloured units and a darker worktop.
"Paint the walls in pastel colours and use glass panels and stainless steel splashbacks as they reflect light, so will make the room look larger and brighter."
Reflective, metallic accessories will also make the room look brighter and have the added bonus of breaking up large swathes of matt colour very well.
