Create a mosaic tile splashback in the kitchen

Homeowners looking to add colour to their kitchens and rejuvenate walls and floors should use mosaic tiles, it has been suggested.
According to Women24, tiles can be used in kitchen design to create anything from a sleek, urban style to a funky modern look, it points out.
Glass, marble, pebble and metal tiles are all available and could make a great kitchen splashback, the news provider adds.
When planning a tiled feature it suggests drawing the design, to scale, on paper and then tracing it on to the wall.
Play around with the placement and keep assessing the progress as you go, the advice continues.
"Be creative and use different colours, textures and patterns to impart your own personal style," Women24 says.
Simon Errill of Stonehouse Tiles recently recommended using mosaic-style tiling on kitchen floors as well as on worktops.
He noted that those aiming for a Mediterranean look might want to opt for accessories and designs from Spanish, Greek and Italian culture.
